Jhapa District Documentary by Nepal Tourism Board. Jhapa district, located on Eastern Development Region of Nepal, is fertile and dense populated district of Mechi Zone. This district is spreed in 1606 sq km. Jhapa boundary is surrounded by India in east and south side, Morang district in west and Illam district in north.
In Human Development Index this district is located in third rank. Bhadrapur is Headquarter of Jhapa District which is located on 13 km south from Birtamod. Nepal's lowest land Kechana Kawal(58 m from sea level) and longest concrete bridge kanakai bridge(702 m) is located on Jhapa District. Jhapa is main district for crop production.
