Hiking the Mardi Himal Trek in Nepal

In early February of 2020 I hiked the Mardi Himal trek alone in Nepal's Annapurna Mountain Range. The 25 mile hike took me three days to complete and reached altitudes of 15,000ft above sea level.

Himalayas always give a chance of soul searching. Manaslu Circuit Trek (Nov 2019) is a moderate difficulty trek of 163 km with highest point of Larke Pass at 5,106 mt. Completed in 11 days passing through many interior villages of Nepal and staying in tea-houses. Mt Manaslu at 8,156 mt is the 8th highest peak on earth. The trek gives a close look at Tibetan life at high altitudes. Itinerary was as following :

- Arrival at Kathmandu
- Kathmandu to Sotikhola by Jeep

Day 1 - Sotikhola to Khorlabesi (930 mt)
Day 2 - Khorlabesi to Jagat (1400 mt)
Day 3- Jagat to Deng (1900 mt)
Day 4 - Deng to Namrung (2300 mt)
Day 5 - Namrung to Lho (2950 mt)
Day 6 - Lho to Samagaon (3400 mt) + Birendra Taal
Day 7 - Rest day - Excursion to Pungyen Gompa (4000 mt)
Day 8 - Samagaon to Samdo (3900 mt)
Day 9 - Samdo to Dharamshala (4400 mt)
Day 10 - Dharamshala to Larke Pass (5106 mt) then Bimthang (3800 mt)
Day 11 - Bimthang to Dhara Pani (2200 mt)
